VancouverInternships is the main operating arm of a company called St. Kits Work and Travel. We are based in the heart of downtown Vancouver on Granville Street and we provide internship and working holiday placements across Western Canada to students from North America and around the world.

In addition we work in close partnership with numerous Languages Canada-accredited ESL schools, PCTIA-accredited career colleges to manage their in-house internship and co-op programs, and we partner with local public colleges and universities to develop unique internship exchange programs to college students from around the world.

Who are we really?

We're possibly the nerdiest company on the block. While all the other cool companies are out on dates on Saturday night, we're home alone researching the needs of engineering companies or finding out what microbiologists look for in an intern. We study, we learn, we network with host companies at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon, the job fairs, the trade shows. While you're in class, we're spending every minute of our day meeting your future host companies and getting them to tell us what they need.

Since 2008, our team of host company recruiters, student services agents, and placement consultants, has been using this knowledge to place hundreds of Canadian and international interns in an ever increasing range of rewarding positions around Metro Vancouver, and throughout Western Canada. Placements have included:

  • Information Technology
  • Engineerng
  • Finance
  • Marketing and Advertising
  • International Trade
  • Project Management
  • Hospitality

Internships are an important part of post secondary education. But not just any old internship will do, it has to be an internship which is suited to your studies and your personality. The right fit is so crucial - the match alone is what makes the difference between a regular run of the mill placement and an enriching and life changing internship. And making that match, that's what we do.

Meet our team

Robert Jago, Director
rjago @ vancouverinternships.ca

The Johnny Appleseed of internship programs, Robert has set up or managed half a dozen internship programs over the last ten years. Before doing that, he lived and worked in Egypt (where he did his own internship), Italy, and Ireland. Robert has general oversight of the company, and spends the rest of his waking hours recruiting host companies for the paid professional internship program. Robert speaks English, Italian and very bad French.

Christy Gass, Student Services
cgass @ vancouverinternships.ca

Christy is an ex-biology student from Alberta. For years she helped manage youth summer camps and she volunteered and worked with youth in the community. She's the real 'people person' at VancouverInternships. She is your first point of contact, she'll be the one bugging you for reports, and she'll be the first one to listen to your problems and to help you solve them. Christy speaks English and French.

Maria Fernanda Quijano, Administration and Marketing
fquijano @ vancouverinternships.ca

Maria Fernanda comes from Mexico where she worked in administration at a retail chain. Maria has experience supervising staff and managing day to day operations and communications back in her country. Here at Vancouver Internships, Maria Fernanda assists with intern registration and marketing inquiries. When you write in to us, Maria Fernanda will most likely be the person writing back to you.

Julian Gomez, Student Services Intern
jgomez @ vancouverinternships.ca

Julian has joined us from his school in Colombia. He is helping us over the summer of 2010 with our new engineering program with BCIT. He's also helping out with host company recruitment and some student services work. Julian speaks English, French and Spanish.
